Bridget Forrester - Casting

Casting

The role was originated by various child actresses. Agnes Bruckner portrayed Bridget as a rebellious teenager from early 1997 to 1999. In 2000, Jennifer Finnigan began portraying Bridget to critical acclaim. She earned herself 3 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Younger Female Actress In 2002, 2003, 2004; winning three consecutive years In that section. In 2004, once Finnigan (who was most identifiable as Bridget) stepped down from the role, the public reacted negatively.

In December 2004, Two time Daytime Emmy nominee Ashley Jones (Megan Dennison, The Young and the Restless) took over the role of Bridget Forrester. While her performance was praised, some still suggested that Finnigan should still be in the part. The character left for an amount of time in 2011, returning a year later for another short stint.

Famous quotes containing the word casting:

This I do know and can say to you: Our country is in more danger now than at any time since the Declaration of Independence. We don’t dare follow the Lindberghs, Wheelers and Nyes, casting suspicion, sowing discord around the leadership of Franklin D. Roosevelt. We don’t want revolution among ourselves.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)

Reason sits firm and holds the reins, and she will not let the feelings burst away and hurry her to wild chasms. The passions may rage furiously, like true heathens, as they are; and the desires may imagine all sorts of vain things: but judgement shall still have the last word in every argument, and the casting vote in every decision.
    Charlotte Brontë (1816–1855)

For the gods, though slow to see, see well, whenever a man casting aside worship turns folly.
    Sophocles (497–406/5 B.C.)
