Early Life

Brian K. Vaughan was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in Rocky River and Westlake. As of 2009, Vaughan's parents, Geoffrey and Catherine Vaughan, still live in Westlake. Vaughan decided he wanted to be a writer while attending St. Ignatius High School, from which he graduated 1994. He then attended New York University to study film. While a student there, Vaughan took part in Marvel Comics's Stan-hattan Project, a class for fledgling comic book writers.
