Brenda Starr (film) - Post Production & Release

Post Production & Release

The film was shot in 1986, however it was not released for three years, due to lengthy litigation over distribution rights.

When the film was released in the United States in 1992, it bombed at the box office, making US$30,000 in the first week of its release, after opening to mostly empty houses. Negative reviews were blamed for lack of interest, and the film was pulled from theatres shortly after its theatrical distribution.

Famous quotes containing the words post, production and/or release:

I can forgive even that wrong of wrongs,
Those undreamt accidents that have made me
Seeing that Fame has perished this long while,
Being but a part of ancient ceremony
Notorious, till all my priceless things
Are but a post the passing dogs defile.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

Constant revolutionizing of production ... distinguish the bourgeois epoch from all earlier ones. All fixed, fast-frozen relations, with their train of ancient and venerable prejudices are swept away, all new-formed ones become antiquated before they can ossify. All that is solid melts into air, all that is holy is profaned, and man is at last compelled to face with sober senses, his real conditions of life, and his relations with his kind.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)

The shallow consider liberty a release from all law, from every constraint. The wise man sees in it, on the contrary, the potent Law of Laws.
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)
