Famous quotes containing the words bread and/or talk:
“He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna, with which neither you nor your ancestors were acquainted, in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.”
—Bible: Hebrew, Deuteronomy 8:3-8.
Scripture cited by Jesus when tempted in the wilderness.
“Of comfort no man speak.
Let’s talk of graves, of worms and epitaphs,
Make dust our paper, and with rainy eyes
Write sorrow on the bosom of the earth.
Let’s choose executors and talk of wills.”
—William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
