- Qualification Tournament in Halifax, Canada in April 1996
- South American Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina
- Asia
- Asian Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from October 1 to October 8, 1995
- Europe
- European Championships in Vejle, Denmark from March 30 to April 7, 1996
- Australia and Oceania
- Qualification Tournament in Nuku'alofa, Tonga in October 1995
