Bootle is a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. Since 1990 the MP has been Joe Benton of the Labour Party. The constituency has long been one of Labour's safest seats.
