Famous quotes containing the word personal:
“What had really caused the womens movement was the additional years of human life. At the turn of the century womens life expectancy was forty-six; now it was nearly eighty. Our groping sense that we couldnt live all those years in terms of motherhood alone was the problem that had no name. Realizing that it was not some freakish personal fault but our common problem as women had enabled us to take the first steps to change our lives.”
—Betty Friedan (20th century)
“Take two kids in competition for their parents love and attention. Add to that the envy that one child feels for the accomplishments of the other; the resentment that each child feels for the privileges of the other; the personal frustrations that they dont dare let out on anyone else but a brother or sister, and its not hard to understand why in families across the land, the sibling relationship contains enough emotional dynamite to set off rounds of daily explosions.”
—Adele Faber (20th century)
“The personal right to acquire property, which is a natural right, gives to property, when acquired, a right to protection, as a social right.”
—James Madison (17511836)
