Crime
Since the end of the civil war in 2002, there has been an increase in homicide, armed robbery, home invasion and carjacking in Bo Town. Petty crime and pick pocketing of wallets, cell phones, and passports are very common in the city. Over the past year, criminal exploits have become more aggressive; increasingly operating in numbers and using weapons. Like in most West African countries, local criminals target expatriates due to their perceived wealth.

Famous quotes containing the word crime:
“Only crime and the criminal, it is true, confront us with the perplexity of radical evil; but only the hypocrite is really rotten to to the core.”
—Hannah Arendt (19061975)
“It recognizes no morality but a sham morality meant for deceit, no honor even among thieves and of a thievish sort, no force but physical force, no intellectual power but cunning, no disgrace but failure, no crime but stupidity.”
—Woodrow Wilson (18561924)
“The crime of book purging is that it involves a rejection of the word. For the word is never absolute truth, but only mans frail and human effort to approach the truth. To reject the word is to reject the human search.”
—Max Lerner (b. 1902)
