Blue Rose (role-playing Game)

Blue Rose (role-playing Game)

Blue Rose is a fantasy role-playing game published by Green Ronin Publishing in 2005. The game is described as being in the romantic fantasy genre — it is inspired by fantasy fiction such as that of Mercedes Lackey and Diane Duane as opposed to Robert E. Howard–style of swords and sorcery. In romantic fantasy the emphasis is on role-playing and character interaction more than on combat. The game uses a derivative of the D20 system, called True 20. Blue Rose won the Gen Con ENWorld Roleplaying Silver Medal for Best Rules in 2005. Green Ronin subsequently released True20 as a separate system without a setting and genre neutral.

Famous quotes containing the words blue and/or rose:

    Sometimes we see a cloud that’s dragonish,
    A vapor sometimes like a bear or lion,
    A towered citadel, a pendant rock,
    A forked mountain, or blue promontory
    With trees upon ‘t that nod unto the world
    And mock our eyes with air. Thou hast seen these signs;
    They are black vesper’s pageants.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    And one rose in a tent of sea and gave
    A darkening shudder; water fell away;
    The whale stood shining, and then sank in spray.
    Yvor Winters (1900–1968)
