Blacktown Olympic Park - Baseball Stadium

Baseball Stadium

Blacktown Baseball Stadium was built for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games as the secondary Baseball Stadium. The stadium is now home to Baseball NSW and hosted the Claxton Shield between 2002 and 2006. It also hosted the showcase round of the Claxton Shield 2009 and will host two other NSW Patriots home games.

It is also home for the Sydney Blue Sox competing in the Australian Baseball League, who commenced their first season in November 2010.

Famous quotes containing the words baseball and/or stadium:

It is a mass language only in the same sense that its baseball slang is born of baseball players. That is, it is a language which is being molded by writers to do delicate things and yet be within the grasp of superficially educated people. It is not a natural growth, much as its proletarian writers would like to think so. But compared with it at its best, English has reached the Alexandrian stage of formalism and decay.
    Raymond Chandler (1888–1959)

It’s no accident that of all the monuments left of the Greco- Roman culture the biggest is the ballpark, the Colosseum, the Yankee Stadium of ancient times.
    Walter Wellesley (Red)
