Blackened Sky is the debut studio album by Scottish alternative rock band Biffy Clyro, released on 10 March 2002, on Beggars Banquet Records. The album yielded four singles: "27", "Justboy", "57", and "Joy.Discovery.Invention", and reached #78 in the UK Albums Chart.
As with each of the band's three first albums, it has only been played in full once, on 13 December 2005 at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow.
On 2 April 2012, a re-issue of the album, containing the nine B-sides that accompanied the singles, was released in double LP format. The song "Time As An Imploding Unit / Waiting For Green" features a typo on its listing on the cover art, reading as "Time As As Imploding Unit / Waiting For Green".

Famous quotes containing the words blackened and/or sky:
“But famished field and blackened tree
Bear flowers in Eden never known.
Blossoms of grief and charity
Bloom in these darkened fields alone.”
—Edwin Muir (18871959)
“And shall the earth
Seem all of paradise that we shall know?
The sky will be much friendlier then than now,
A part of labor and a part of pain,
And next in glory to enduring love,
Not this dividing and indifferent blue.”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
