Black Lantern Corps - Oath

Oath

As with the other Lantern Corps, Black Hand devised an oath for the Black Lanterns:

“
The Blackest Night falls from the skies,
The darkness grows as all light dies,
We crave your hearts and your demise,
By my black hand, the dead shall rise!
 ”

Famous quotes containing the word oath:

“On principle I dislike an oath which requires a man to swear he has not done wrong. It rejects the Christian principle of forgiveness on terms of repentance. I think it is enough if the man does no wrong hereafter.”
    —Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

“I’ll have my bond, speak not against my bond,
I have sworn an oath that I will have my bond.”
    —William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

“Here I swear, and as I break my oath may ... eternity blast me, here I swear that never will I forgive Christianity! It is the only point on which I allow myself to encourage revenge.... Oh, how I wish I were the Antichrist, that it were mine to crush the Demon; to hurl him to his native Hell never to rise again—I expect to gratify some of this insatiable feeling in Poetry.”
    —Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792–1822)
