Players
In the Professional Development League, three over-21 outfield players and one over-age goalkeeper are permitted. Those players marked as reserve team players were named in matchday squads for Professional Development League 2 fixtures or the Birmingham Senior Cup during the 2012–13 season. Those marked as academy players were named in matchday squads for the U18 Professional Development League 2 or FA Youth Cup. Unnamed triallists and regular first-team players are excluded; those who have only been unused substitutes are marked accordingly. Note that the list may be incomplete because the club's match reports do not always include a full team sheet. Squad numbers, where present, refer to the first team squad; development and youth teams do not have squad numbers.
Development squad players updated to match played 24 October 2012. Academy players updated to match played 29 September 2012.

Famous quotes containing the word players:
“Yeah, percentage players die broke too, dont they, Bert?”
—Sydney Carroll, U.S. screenwriter, and Robert Rossen. Eddie Felson (Paul Newman)
“People stress the violence. Thats the smallest part of it. Football is brutal only from a distance. In the middle of it theres a calm, a tranquility. The players accept pain. Theres a sense of order even at the end of a running play with bodies stewn everywhere. When the systems interlock, theres a satisfaction to the game that cant be duplicated. Theres a harmony.”
—Don Delillo (b. 1926)
“The players have often mentioned it as an honour to Shakespeare, that in his writing, whatsoever he penned, he never blotted out [a] line. My answer hath been, Would he had blotted a thousand.”
—Ben Jonson (c. 15721637)
