Broadcast & Platform
The main television coverage of Big Brother was screened in three weekly highlight programs that were transmitted on Saturdays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), Tuesdays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), and Thursdays at 8 p.m (live ET/delayed PT) on CBS in the United States. The episodes summarize the events of the previous two to three days in the House. The series also featured a Live Feed, in which subscribers could look inside the house at any time, though the feeds were shut down for competitions. Big Brother 5 also featured the premiere of the online companion series House Calls: The Big Brother Talk Show, hosted by Gretchen Massey and former Big Brother 3 HouseGuest Marcellas Reynolds. Along with these features, CBS also launched an official website, which featured various features such as a "Love Em or Leave Em" poll, and a poll asking fans who would be evicted next. Other features included a fantasy draft and a chat location.

Famous quotes containing the words broadcast and/or platform:
“Radio news is bearable. This is due to the fact that while the news is being broadcast the disc jockey is not allowed to talk.”
—Fran Lebowitz (b. 1951)
“I have rather a strange objection to talking from the back platform of a train.... It changes too often. It moves around and shifts its ground too often. I like a platform that stays put.”
—Woodrow Wilson (18561924)
