Bhiwani - Development

Development

Bhiwani was considered a deserted place. Farming could be done with the help of rain. After every two or three years there would be a drought. Men, women, animals and birds suffered due to lack of water and greenery. Things changed when in 1893 a canal was first built in Bhiwani.

It was a religious region, and gradually the people started taking part in politics and the Indian struggle for independence. Neki Ram, Fateh Chand, K.A. Desai and Babu Gupta opened a branch of the Congress party here in 1919. But now many MNCs are looking Bhiwani as potential for there operation.

Famous quotes containing the word development:

They [women] can use their abilities to support each other, even as they develop more effective and appropriate ways of dealing with power.... Women do not need to diminish other women ... [they] need the power to advance their own development, but they do not “need” the power to limit the development of others.
    Jean Baker Miller (20th century)

A defective voice will always preclude an artist from achieving the complete development of his art, however intelligent he may be.... The voice is an instrument which the artist must learn to use with suppleness and sureness, as if it were a limb.
    Sarah Bernhardt (1845–1923)

As a final instance of the force of limitations in the development of concentration, I must mention that beautiful creature, Helen Keller, whom I have known for these many years. I am filled with wonder of her knowledge, acquired because shut out from all distraction. If I could have been deaf, dumb, and blind I also might have arrived at something.
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)
