Biography
Beverly LaHaye is best known for The Act of Marriage, a Christian sex self-help bestseller she co-authored in 1976 with her husband Tim LaHaye, and for founding Concerned Women for America (CWA) in 1979 in San Diego, California, an organization of which she has served as president. CWA opposes the National Organization for Women, the Equal Rights Amendment, gay rights and abortion. LaHaye has co-written multiple books with Terri Blackstock.
In July 1947 she married fellow Bob Jones University graduate Tim LaHaye. They have four children and nine grandchildren and live in the Los Angeles area. In 1992, Jerry Falwell's Liberty University gave her an honorary Doctorate of Humanities.
