Betty Lennox - Personal Life

Personal Life

Lennox started the Lennox Foundation 22 in 2005 to support children that were victims of neglect and abuse. The organization’s mission is to give these children better experiences and the chance to succeed with support, education, and love. They learn self-motivation through playing basketball. She was presented with the WNBA’s Community Assist Award in June 2006 for her charitable work.

She comes from a deeply religious background, and has a bible verse inscribed on the toes of her shoes (Philippians 4:13) which she says is the scripture that tells all that she has become today.

Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or life:

It has no share in the leadership of thought: it does not even reflect its current. It does not create beauty: it apes fashion. It does not produce personal skill: our actors and actresses, with the exception of a few persons with natural gifts and graces, mostly miscultivated or half-cultivated, are simply the middle-class section of the residuum.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)

Not too many years ago, a child’s experience was limited by how far he or she could ride a bicycle or by the physical boundaries that parents set. Today ... the real boundaries of a child’s life are set more by the number of available cable channels and videotapes, by the simulated reality of videogames, by the number of megabytes of memory in the home computer. Now kids can go anywhere, as long as they stay inside the electronic bubble.
    Richard Louv (20th century)
