BERNINA offers embroidery design editing and full digitizing software branded under its own name and written by industrial digitizing software manufacturer Wilcom International Pty Ltd.
Released in late-Summer 2009, BERNINA Embroidery Software Version 6 is available in two different levels. This new version includes Corel Draw Essentials 4, introducing object oriented digitizing and improving the auto-digitizing functionality.
Intended for the general embroidery customizer, the EditorPlus version of this software offers lettering, automatic digitizing, and basic design editing features as well as design conversion and resizing tools.
The more advanced embroiderer would want to take advantage of the full digitizing features in DesignerPlus. Full digitizing offers the ability to create embroidery designs through a variety of tools, including lines, rectangles, circles, and custom shapes. The lettering tools in DesignerPlus are more advanced than EditorPlus and feature additional predigitized fonts.
Just like all other BERNINA software, this embroidery software is written only for the Microsoft Windows PC-based systems. . The software (Version 6), however, runs easily on a MAC using Parallels with Windows 7. As a matter of fact, it runs as well as it would on a Windows machine making this a terrific change for MAC users.
