Bernina Sewing Machine - B830

B830

Fifteen patents were filed by BERNINA for the newly developed technology incorporated in the B830. Among the features of the model are an especially large free arm, hence more working area to the right of the needle; an easy-to-operate, centrally located touchscreen; a newly developed jumbo bobbin with a 40% higher thread capacity; maximum sewing and embroidering speeds of 1100 and 1000 stitches per minute respectively; and dual feed for hard-to-handle materials such as tricot, velvet or multiple layers of fabric. Thanks to a technology which feeds the fabric diagonally under the needle, the B830 offers 360-degree multi-directional sewing, adjustable in 1-degree increments. It also offers 9mm stitch width and 6mm stitch length. The BERNINA Stitch Regulator (BSR) optimizes free-motion sewing (i.e. without feed dogs), ensuring that sewing stitches remain completely consistent in length, even at variable sewing speeds. An automatic needle-threader passes the thread through the machine and the needle in a single process, and a rotatable spool holder for 3 cones with telescoping feature makes for optimal thread delivery. More than 1000 decorative stitches and alphabet stitches can be sewn with the B830, 250 of which were developed exclusively for the new BERNINA model. 250 embroidery motifs by international designers come pre-installed. Among the software features are tapering (where the basic angle of stitch patterns is altered and the stitch patterns are recombined), drag-and-drop functionality (sewing-stitch combinations and embroidery motifs are activated and edited on the screen with the touchpen), and border embroidery (precise alignment of embroidery motifs depending on the size of the selected embroidery hoop). The ability to import sewing stitches into embroidery mode is particularly appreciated by advanced users.
