Benji The Hunted - Critical Reception

Critical Reception

Movie critic Roger Ebert gave Benji the Hunted four stars (out of four) as well as a "Thumbs Up." Gene Siskel gave the film a "Thumbs Down," criticizing Ebert for liking the film more than Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket. their difference in opinion was parodied in television show The Critic, where Siskel taunts Ebert with "coming from the guy who liked Benji the Hunted!"

Benji the Hunted holds a 63% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

It grossed $22,257,624, enough for it to be considered a bomb.

Famous quotes containing the words critical and/or reception:

It is critical vision alone which can mitigate the unimpeded operation of the automatic.
    Marshall McLuhan (1911–1980)

I gave a speech in Omaha. After the speech I went to a reception elsewhere in town. A sweet old lady came up to me, put her gloved hand in mine, and said, “I hear you spoke here tonight.” “Oh, it was nothing,” I replied modestly. “Yes,” the little old lady nodded, “that’s what I heard.”
    Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)
