Belgian Promotion

The Belgian Promotion is the lowest nationwide division in Belgian football. Since 1905, Promotion has been the name of the lowest nationwide level but it is the fourth one since 1952. There were already 4 leagues at the time (A, B, C and D). The champion of the Promotion is declared to be the winner of a league with the most points. If several league winners have the same amount of points, the one with the most wins is champion, then the one with the best goal average is champion. Finally, if two teams are still equal, a single match is played on a neutral ground to determine the team to be added in the palmares.

Famous quotes containing the words belgian and/or promotion:

This fat pistache of Belgian grapes exceeds
The total gala of auburn aureoles.
Cochon! Master, the grapes are here and now.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

Parents can fail to cheer your successes as wildly as you expected, pointing out that you are sharing your Nobel Prize with a couple of other people, or that your Oscar was for supporting actress, not really for a starring role. More subtly, they can cheer your successes too wildly, forcing you into the awkward realization that your achievement of merely graduating or getting the promotion did not warrant the fireworks and brass band.
    Frank Pittman (20th century)
