For Thriller 25, The Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am remixed "Beat It". The song, titled "Beat It 2008", featured additional vocals by will.i.am's fellow Black Eyed Peas member Fergie. Upon its release in 2008, the song reached No. 26 in Switzerland, the Top 50 in Sweden and No. 65 in Austria. Following the reworking as Moby's Sub Mix, released on the "Jam" and "Who Is It" singles in 1992, as well as the "They Don't Care About Us" single in 1996 (and rereleased as part of the Visionary campaign), this was the second remixed version of "Beat It" to get an official release.

Famous quotes containing the words beat it and/or beat:

We fight our way through the massed and leveled collective safe taste of the Top 40, just looking for a little something we can call our own. But when we find it and jam the radio to hear it again it isn’t just ours—it is a link to thousands of others who are sharing it with us. As a matter of a single song this might mean very little; as culture, as a way of life, you can’t beat it.
    Greil Marcus (b. 1945)

Men are the managers of the affairs of women
for that God has preferred in bounty
one of them over another, and for that
they have expended of their property.
    Righteous women are therefore obedient,
guarding the secret for God’s guarding.
And those you fear may be rebellious
admonish; banish them to their couches,
    and beat them.
    Qur’An. Women 4:38, ed. Arthur J. Arberry (1955)
