Famous quotes containing the words beat and/or crazy:
“No married woman ever trusts her husband absolutely, nor does she ever act as if she did trust him. Her utmost confidence is as wary as an American pickpockets confidence that the policeman on the beat will stay bought.”
—H.L. (Henry Lewis)
“I started out very quiet and I beat Mr. Turgenev. Then I trained hard and I beat Mr. de Maupassant. Ive fought two draws with Mr. Stendhal, and I think I had an edge in the last one. But nobodys going to get me in any ring with Mr. Tolstoy unless Im crazy or I keep getting better.”
—Ernest Hemingway (18991961)
