Bay Area Ridge Trail - Experience The Trail

Experience The Trail

A variety of trail events are hosted on the trail each year including fully supported trail events (Ridge to Bridge in Marin County in spring, RidgeToBridge.org, East Bay Hills Through-Hike & Equestrian Ride over Labor Day week, and the Ridge Trail Cruz in the Santa Cruz Mountains southwest of Palo Alto in fall), volunteer work parties to build/maintain/restore Ridge Trail (including the REI-Ridge Trail Service Day each November), and a variety of others. Please see the Events section of the website for a complete listing.

Famous quotes containing the words experience and/or trail:

While I do not think it was so intended I have always been of the opinion that this turned out to be much the best for me. I had no national experience. What I have ever been able to do has been the result of first learning how to do it. I am not gifted with intuition. I need not only hard work but experience to be ready to solve problems. The Presidents who have gone to Washington without first having held some national office have been at great disadvantage.
    Calvin Coolidge (1872–1933)

These, and such as these, must be our antiquities, for lack of human vestiges. The monuments of heroes and the temples of the gods which may once have stood on the banks of this river are now, at any rate, returned to dust and primitive soil. The murmur of unchronicled nations has died away along these shores, and once more Lowell and Manchester are on the trail of the Indian.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
