Water extracts of the leaves of Bauhinia purpurea have been shown to have anti-ulcer activity in animals in the 'ethanol-induced gastric ulcer model'. Water extracts did not show any signs of toxicity when given to rats orally at doses up to 5000 mg/kg.

“Although there is no universal agreement as to a definition of life, its biological manifestations are generally considered to be organization, metabolism, growth, irritability, adaptation, and reproduction.”

“Justice begins with the recognition of the necessity of sharing. The oldest law is that which regulates it, and this is still the most important law today and, as such, has remained the basic concern of all movements which have at heart the community of human activities and of human existence in general.”
—Elias Canetti (b. 1905)
