BART is planning to extend service in this direction by building an eBART (East Contra Costa County BART Extension) train service all the way to Brentwood (and beyond) in the future. The first phase will be an extension to Hillcrest Avenue in Antioch with a Railroad Avenue station in Pittsburg midway between the terminal and a new cross-platform transfer station near the Pittsburg/Bay Point station known as eBART. This Diesel Multiple Unit system is under construction and will open in 2016.
