Bars Radar
The Bars are a family of Russian (former USSR) all-weather multimode airborne radars developed by the Tikhomirov Scientific Research Institute of Instrument Design for multi-role combat aircraft such as the Su-27 and the MiG-29.
Famous quotes containing the words bars and/or radar:
“Not to find ones way in a city may well be uninteresting and banal. It requires ignorancenothing more. But to lose oneself in a cityas one loses oneself in a forestthat calls for a quite different schooling. Then, signboard and street names, passers-by, roofs, kiosks, or bars must speak to the wanderer like a cracking twig under his feet in the forest.”
—Walter Benjamin (18921940)
“So I begin to understand why my mothers radar is so sensitive to criticism. She still treads the well-worn ruts of her youth, when her impression of mother was of a woman hard to please, frequently negative, and rarely satisfied with anyoneleast of all herself.”
—Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)
