Bangor Area High School is in School Improvement I due to chronic low student achievement. In 2009, the school was in School Improvement I. The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires schools not meeting AYP to complete and implement a school improvement plan which delineates strategic practices to raise the achievement levels of all students.
