Bangladeshi Cricket Captains

Bangladesh became a full member of the International Cricket Council on 26 June 2000, and played its first Test match, against India that November. Before then, it had been an associate member of the ICC since 1977, competing in six ICC Trophies, the leading one-day competition for non-Test nations. Bangladesh did not had a good start to their Test record, winning only once in their first 50 Tests, and that was against a weakened Zimbabwe. In 2009, however, they achieved their first Test series victory over a weakened West Indies team, with a 2:0 victory in the Caribbean.

Famous quotes containing the word cricket:

    All cries are thin and terse;
    The field has droned the summer’s final mass;
    A cricket like a dwindled hearse
    Crawls from the dry grass.
    Richard Wilbur (b. 1921)
