Marines and Special Forces
The Bangladesh Navy maintains a Special Operations unit known as the SWADS. On 27 dec 11, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina commissioned SWADS base as BNS NIRVIK at Danger Char opposite to BNS ISSA KHAN. The current strength of the unit is classified.
