Banana Pancake Trail

Banana Pancake Trail

The "Banana Pancake Trail" or "Banana Pancake Circuit" is the name given to the constantly growing routes around South East Asia travelled by backpackers and other tourists. The Trail has no clear definition but is used as a metaphor for places that are visited by mostly Western tourists who have left their marks on the local tourist industry, which has created restaurants, hotels and entertainment catering to these travellers' needs.

Famous quotes containing the words banana and/or trail:

I never liked bananas much anyway. Two-thirds of the way down even one banana I am willing to concede defeat smilingly and give the rest to the nearest monkey.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)

To be thoroughly modern, an aphorism should trail off vaguely rather than coming to a point.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
