Ballistic Face Mask

A ballistic face mask, also known as facial armor, is a type of personal armor designed to protect the wearer from ballistic threats. Ballistic face masks are usually made of kevlar or other bullet resistant materials and the inside of the mask may be padded for shock absorption, depending on the design. Due to weight restrictions, protection levels range only up to National Institute of Justice Level IIIA.

Famous quotes containing the words face and/or mask:

When my old wife lived, upon
This day she was both pantler, butler, cook,
Both dame and servant, welcomed all, served all,
Would sing her song and dance her turn, now here
At upper end o’the table, now i’the middle,
On his shoulder, and his, her face afire
With labor, and the thing she took to quench it
She would to each one sip.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    To clothe the fiery thought
    In simple words succeeds,
For still the craft of genius is
To mask a king in weeds.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
