Shot
The Cherry Bakewell shot is an alcoholic beverage made from amaretto, cherry liquor and Baileys. A skilled bartender is able to layer the ingredients by pouring the respective spirits over the back of a chilled spoon. The name comes from the similarity in taste to the aforementioned Cherry Bakewell tart.

Famous quotes containing the word shot:
“We talk about a representative government; but what a monster of a government is that where the noblest faculties of the mind, and the whole heart, are not represented! A semihuman tiger or ox, stalking over the earth, with its heart taken out and the top of its brain shot away. Heroes have fought well on their stumps when their legs were shot off, but I never heard of any good done by such a government as that.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to Aprils breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood
And fired the shot heard round the world.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Suppose by chance you do get picked up. What have you done? You shot a horse; that isnt first degree murder; in fact, it isnt even murder; in fact, I dont know what it is.”
—Stanley Kubrick (b. 1928)
