Models Produced Under Licence

A variant on rebadging is licensing models to be produced by other companies, typically in another country. One example of this is the British Hillman Hunter, which was license-built in Iran as the iconic Paykan, as well as Naza, building vehicles under license from Kia and Peugeot (Naza 206 Bestari).

Another example of licensed badge-engineered products would be the Volga Siber, a rebadged version of the Chrysler Sebring Sedan and the Dodge Stratus Sedan produced in Russia from 2008-2010.

Famous quotes containing the words models and/or produced:

The parents who wish to lead a quiet life I would say: Tell your children that they are very naughty—much naughtier than most children; point to the young people of some acquaintances as models of perfection, and impress your own children with a deep sense of their own inferiority. You carry so many more guns than they do that they cannot fight you. This is called moral influence and it will enable you to bounce them as much as you please.
    Samuel Butler (1835–1902)

Such writing is a sort of mental masturbation.... I don’t mean that he is indecent but viciously soliciting his own ideas into a state which is neither poetry nor anything else but a Bedlam vision produced by raw pork and opium.
    George Gordon Noel Byron (1788–1824)
