As per Evans (1932), the butterfly is 'Common' in India and 'Rare' in the Andaman islands. Wynter-Blyth (1957) records it as 'Not Rare' and 'Locally Common'. Kunte (2000) reports it as common in deciduous forests during the monsoon months and the evergreen forests in the following months.
