Axum Airport

Axum Airport (IATA: AXU, ICAO: HAAX), also known as Emperor Yohannes IV Airport, is an airport serving Axum, a city in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. The name of the city and airport may also be transliterated as Aksum. The airport is located 5.5 km (3.4 miles) east of the city.

The airport is named for Yohannes IV, the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1872 through 1889.
