Maximum Ride
In the book series Maximum Ride, written by James Patterson, six kids of different ages are injected with bird DNA before they are born and call themselves Avian-Americans as they were born with wings. they are Max(female), Fang(male) and Iggy(male) who are 14 years old, Nudge(female, 11) Gazzy/the Gasman(male, 8) and Angel(female, 6). They all have different powers appearing at different times during the series such as mind reading and breathing underwater.
