Australian HPV Super Series - Fastest Individual Qualifying/shootout Lap at Murray Bridge

Fastest Individual Qualifying/shootout Lap At Murray Bridge

In 2005, a timed Friday night practice session was introduced. This session is used to determine the grid positions for the start of the race the following day.

In 2005, a Top 12 Shootout (three fastest teams from each category) was also introduced, giving the top teams from each category an opportunity to set a lap time on an clear track on Saturday morning before the start of the race to determine the top 12 positions on the grid. In 2008, the shootout was expanded to a Top 15 shootout to include the fastest all female team from categories 1, 2 and 3.

The shootout has quickly become a crowd favourite since its introduction; large crowds gather around the track to cheer on the fastest teams as they are given the opportunity to push their trikes and bodies to the limit on a clear track.

Famous quotes containing the words fastest, individual, lap, murray and/or bridge:

    Assassination’s the fastest way.
    Molière [Jean Baptiste Poquelin] (1622–1673)

I have no faith in our hypocritical, false, hysterical, uneducated and lazy intelligentsia when they suffer and complain: their oppression comes from within. I believe in individual people. I see salvation in discrete individuals, intellectuals and peasants, strewn hither and yon throughout Russia. They have the strength, although there are few of them.
    Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860–1904)

Four and twenty at her back
    And they were a’ clad out in green;
Tho the King of Scotland had been there
The warst o’ them might hae been his Queen.

On we lap and awa we rade
Till we cam to yon bonny ha’
Whare the roof was o’ the beaten gold
And the floor was o’ the cristal a’.
—Unknown. The Wee Wee Man (l. 21–28)

    Because you live, O Christ,
the spirit bird of hope is freed for flying,
our cages of despair no longer keep us closed and life-denying.
The stone has rolled away and death cannot imprison!
O sing this Easter Day, for Jesus Christ has risen!
    —Shirley Erena Murray (20th century)

Home! Yes! she would see Trafalgar Square, again; and Nelson on his plinth; and Chelsea Bridge as it dissolved into the Thames at twilight ... and St. Paul’s, the single Amazon breast of her beloved native city.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)
