Points System
From the 2010–11 season, the match points will include one point for a first innings lead, and four points for a win; with five points if a team leads at the first innings and subsequently wins.
Previously, points were awarded as follows:
- 4 points for a win
- 2 points for a no-result or a tie
- 0 points for a loss
- 1 bonus point if a team achieves a run rate 1.25 times that of the opposition
- 2 bonus points if a team achieves a run rate twice that of the opposition
The top two teams at the end of the pool matches play-off in the final. The higher-placed team has the home ground advantage.

Famous quotes containing the words points and/or system:
“A few ideas seem to be agreed upon. Help none but those who help themselves. Educate only at schools which provide in some form for industrial education. These two points should be insisted upon. Let the normal instruction be that men must earn their own living, and that by the labor of their hands as far as may be. This is the gospel of salvation for the colored man. Let the labor not be servile, but in manly occupations like that of the carpenter, the farmer, and the blacksmith.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
“For us necessity is not as of old an image without us, with whom we can do warfare; it is a magic web woven through and through us, like that magnetic system of which modern science speaks, penetrating us with a network subtler than our subtlest nerves, yet bearing in it the central forces of the world.”
—Walter Pater (18391894)
