Australian Adult Industry Awards

Australian Adult Industry Awards is an annual award given for outstanding Australian achievements in the adult industry since 2001. In 2004 the organizers of the Awards were persuaded to be a partner of Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to get 16,000 sex workers of Australia to declare their income. As part of the effort ATO decided to sponsor the event.

John Lark won the lifetime achievement award in 2006 for his contribution to industry as producer of 20 films featuring Australian "stars", including Alice Springs and Kelly Blue, in late 1980s.

Famous quotes containing the words australian, adult and/or industry:

The Australian mind, I can state with authority, is easily boggled.
    Charles Osborne (b. 1927)

The confusion of emotions with behavior causes no end of unnecessary trouble to both adults and children. Behavior can be commanded; emotions can’t. An adult can put controls on a child’s behavior—at least part of the time—but how do you put controls on what a child feels? An adult can impose controls on his own behavior—if he’s grown up—but how does he order what he feels?
    Leontine Young (20th century)

The development of civilization and industry in general has always shown itself so active in the destruction of forests that everything that has been done for their conservation and production is completely insignificant in comparison.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)
