Auraiya District comes under Kannauj Lok Sabha constituency. Dimple Yadav, (Samajwadi Party) is the current Member of Parliament from the Kannauj (Lok Sabha constituency). She is the wife of Akhilesh Yadav (Chief-Minister of UP) and daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav. She is the sixth Yadav from Mulayam Singh's political dynasty to enter active politics.
In Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly election, 2012 Samajwadi Party's cadidates won all three Assembly seats of the district.
