Local programming from 1967 included Morning Magazine, Roundabout, The Roy Hampson Show, In Melbourne Today, Everyday, Good Morning Melbourne and Til Ten were all produced up until the late 1980s. In 1992 we saw ATV10 launch into national programming with the introduction of the Morning Show, later named Good Morning Australia hosted by Bert Newton. GMA stayed on air until 2005 and the following year was replaced by a new morning show format 9am with David & Kim hosted by Kim Watkins and David Reyne. Famous quotes containing the words morning and/or television:
“It is a good morning exercise for a research scientist to discard a pet hypothesis every day before breakfast. It keeps him young.”
—Konrad Lorenz (19031989)
“The television screen, so unlike the movie screen, sharply reduced human beings, revealed them as small, trivial, flat, in two banal dimensions, drained of color. Wasnt there something reassuring about it!that human beings were in fact merely images of a kind registered in one anothers eyes and brains, phenomena composed of microscopic flickering dots like atoms. They were atomsnothing more. A quick switch of the dial and they disappeared and who could lament the loss?”
—Joyce Carol Oates (b. 1938)
