Proposed
- ATR 82 - During the mid-1980s, the company investigated a 78 seat derivative of the ATR 72. This would have been powered by two Allison AE2100 turboprops (turbofans were also studied for a time) and would have a cruising speed as high as 330kt. The ATR-82 project (as it was dubbed) was suspended when AI(R) was formed in early 1996.
- ATR stretch - In 2007, as a response to the Q400X proposal, ATR floated the idea of a 90-99 seater stretch. As of 2009, it was considered as part of the future -900 series ATR family.
- new 90-seat ATR - In 2011, a 90-seater proposal was planned to be brought to its shareholders for 2012. As of 2012, a new cleansheet design has been considered in the 90-seat segment, for a 2017 launch.

Famous quotes containing the word proposed:
“...a fixed aim furnishes us with a fixed measure, by which we can decide whether such or such an action proposed is worth trying for or not, and as aims must vary with the individual, the decisions of any two people as to the desirableness of an action may not be the same.”
—Anna C. Brackett (18361911)
“It is not always possible to predict the response of a doting Jewish mother. Witness the occasion on which the late piano virtuoso Oscar Levant telephoned his mother with some important news. He had proposed to his beloved and been accepted. Replied Mother Levant: Good, Oscar, Im happy to hear it. But did you practice today?”
—Liz Smith (20th century)
“He [Roosevelt] has made some speeches that indicate that he is going quite beyond anything that he advocated when he was in the White House, and has proposed a program which is absolutely impossible to carry out except by a revision of the Constitution.”
—William Howard Taft (18571930)
