Atomic Kitten (album)

Atomic Kitten (album)

Atomic Kitten is the third album and the American debut album by Atomic Kitten. The girl group had previously been successful in the Europe, Oceania and Asia and already released Right Now and Feels So Good which both went to number one in the UK album chart, however there had not been any release in the United States. It was therefore decided to make an album consisting of tracks of both previous albums.

Unlike Europe, Oceania and Asia, the success of Atomic Kitten in the United States was limited. The American music market is difficult for British and European acts and therefore the girl group teamed up with Disney for The Lizzie McGuire Movie starring Hilary Duff. Virgin Records and Atomic Kitten were hopeful since "The Tide Is High" peaked at #42 on the Billboard Hot 100, however the album peaked at #102 on the album chart just missing the Top 100. This resulted in Atomic Kitten focusing their attention on Europe, Oceania and Asia where they already were an established act. It was also released in New Zealand, where both Right Now and Feels So Good were successful and peaked at #7.

The album contained all radio friendly versions of the group's singles.

Famous quotes containing the words atomic and/or kitten:

The pace of science forces the pace of technique. Theoretical physics forces atomic energy on us; the successful production of the fission bomb forces upon us the manufacture of the hydrogen bomb. We do not choose our problems, we do not choose our products; we are pushed, we are forced—by what? By a system which has no purpose and goal transcending it, and which makes man its appendix.
    Erich Fromm (1900–1980)

I had rather be a kitten and cry mew
Than one of these same metre ballad-mongers.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
