Association of Colleges

The Association of Colleges sometimes shortened to the AoC is an organisation representing further education colleges in the UK, with an associated registered charitable trust. The Association was created in 1996 and provides a broad range of services to its subscribers, the subscribers being FE colleges. It represents their interests locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The charitable trust is also the main supporting body of the Beacon Awards.

Famous quotes containing the words association and/or colleges:

... a Christian has neither more nor less rights in our association than an atheist. When our platform becomes too narrow for people of all creeds and of no creeds, I myself cannot stand upon it.
    Susan B. Anthony (1820–1906)

The present century has not dealt kindly with the farmer. His legends are all but obsolete, and his beliefs have been pared away by the professors at colleges of agriculture. Even the farm- bred bards who twang guitars before radio microphones prefer “I’m Headin’ for the Last Roundup” to “Turkey in the Straw” or “Father Put the Cows Away.”
—For the State of Kansas, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
