ASC is an abbreviation of American Softworks Corporation, a computer and video game publishing company that was founded in 1992 and soon became a major publisher for games on the NES, SNES and Sega Genesis.
ASC was also the publisher of :
- the first Grand Theft Auto game for the PC and PlayStation (1997, DMA Design), before Rockstar Games resumed publishing for other Grand Theft Auto games, as well as the original Grand Theft Auto.
- the game Sanitarium for PC (1998, Dreamforge Entertainment), praised for his atmosphere and originality.
ASC was based in Darien, Connecticut until the company closed down in January 2000.
