Groups and Country
The Aranda comprise people who identify with different parts of their "country". The respective groups are the ones below:
- Central Aranda refers to people from the township of Alice Springs only.
- Eastern Aranda refers to people from the Aranda lands east of Alice Springs.
- Western Aranda refers to people from the Aranda lands west of Alice Springs, out to Mutitjulu and King's Canyon.
Aranda refers to all groups combined, or alternatively to the people from the few Aranda lands north of Alice Springs.

Famous quotes containing the words groups and/or country:
“Women over fifty already form one of the largest groups in the population structure of the western world. As long as they like themselves, they will not be an oppressed minority. In order to like themselves they must reject trivialization by others of who and what they are. A grown woman should not have to masquerade as a girl in order to remain in the land of the living.”
—Germaine Greer (b. 1939)
“But country folks who live beneath
The shadow and the steeple;
The parson and the parsons wife,
And mostly married people;”
—Arthur Hugh Clough (18191861)
