Corporate Responsibility

ARCTIC declared as a carbon neutral company since the year 2011. The company reduces greenhouse gas emissions in the full amount of their carbon footprint by investing into recycling and renewable energy projects. The engaged project captures methane emissions from a landfill and regenerates electricity in the region of Jiangsu Province, China. Methane is a greenhouse gas 25-times more powerful than CO₂. As a result, the project contributed an annual reduction of 134,000tCO2e, which is equivalent to the carbon sequestration of 3,116,994 tree seedlings for 10 years. In addition, it benefits the local socio-economic by job creation and the local environment with significant improvement in air quality, soil and water resources. Known as the "Landfill Gas Recovery Project (GS397)", the project is certified under the Gold Standard established by the WWF since 2003.

With recycling, ARCTIC was awarded by Der Grüne Punkt for its green efforts on packaging recycling, certified a total of 23 tons and 17 tons reduction in 2011 and 2010 respectively. This amount is equivalent to the carbon sequestration by 930 tree seedlings for 10 years ARCTIC believes that their carbon neutral commitment supports its culture of innovation, and will continue their green spirit to reduce the company's environmental footprint to achieve carbon neutrality.
