Recent Encounters
Recently in 2011, a researcher, David Hoddinott and his group had possibly encountered a bird similar to the Archer’s Lark. They were able to capture a picture of this rare sighted bird in north-eastern Ethiopia. Studies are still being investigated in order to correctly identify this bird. If in fact this was the bird, further researchers will be able to go into more depth about the taxonomy, population and ecology of this species, in order to come up with new conservation techniques. If this bird is found again, their land can be protected under the law.
