Famous quotes containing the word art:

The wealthy are always surrounded by hangers-on; science and art are as well.
    Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860–1904)

Art always opts for the individual, the concrete; art is not Platonic.
    Jorge Luis Borges (1899–1986)

There is no mathematical formula for calculating exact amounts of optimal anxiety. This is why child rearing is an art and not a science.
    Alicia F. Lieberman (20th century)
